Welcome to the official website for the National FAU UAV Championship!
The National Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Championship is an annual middle and high school tournament of aeronautics and programming. The Championship was created to encourage students to pursue their interests in the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and math), as well as to give them opportunities to excel in a field they are passionate in. We aim to challenge bright, young middle and high school students to come up with creative solutions to difficult engineering and technical problems.
By using quadcopters, students have access to an exciting new platform to gain and enhance the skills that will be vital to their future. As a matter of fact, many of our events are built around a set of core skills which are often used in engineering and computer science. This includes robotics control systems, data processing and analysis, and iterative experimental design. The skills that students from these will learn will be very beneficial to them later in their engineering careers. The competition also aims to teach important life skills, by promoting students to collaborate with one another in order to achieve a shared goal.
